Approach
My name is Isobel Dawson. I am a Qualified Teacher who is passionate about Economics education. I have experience setting up and leading an Economics Department in the South East, and now split my time between teaching in an independent school, publishing resources and writing courses for Economics teachers. Chairing monthly meetings for Economics teachers across the country helps me to keep up to date with developments in the field of Economics education. I am particularly interested in how students learn Economics and how to best develop the specific skills Economists need.

Tutoring sessions usually take place via Zoom and Google Classroom is used to support teaching. I tailor each student's program around their individual goals and needs. However, I often find the most successful strategy is a coaching model. This approach usually involves the student producing some work which we then go through in detail and look for areas of improvement. Despite being a highly personalised and effective approach, it is one that many classroom teachers struggle to have time for in school settings. This method is, therefore, a good way to take full advantage of 1:1 learning.
